I have ONE weekly appointment opening as of 11/24/24
Fees, Overtime,and Insurance:
Fees:
If you don't have insurance, your cash pay rate is $180 per session.
Learn more about fees and insurance here.
Unfortunately, I don't have any sliding scale fee appointments available at this time.
Insurance: Out-of-network benefits are accepted. We will file your claims for you. Depending on your benefits, you'll be reimbursed for approximately 40% -90% of your fee. Utilizing your insurance benefits helps keep therapy affordable. Each policy is unique, so a conversation with Paige will be necessary to find out what your policy will pay. After collecting all of your relevant insurance information, your benefits will be checked to find out if you have a deductible, and how much your policy will reimburse you for behavioral health therapy. It generally takes about 30 days to get your first reimbursement check. If making your payment that first month is difficult, Paige will work with you to help make it affordable.
• Due to Paige's Auto-Immune Illness, Re-scheduling is Sometimes Required. We realize that this is a variation on typical appointment protocol. However, occasionally, it cannot be avoided. If Paige needs to cancel due to illness, the expectation is that we will reschedule that same week. Reschedules are often offered on weekdays, evenings as well as weekends, as Paige's schedule allows. Rescheduling is expected, and sessions should not be skipped. Keeping up with the work weekly is the most important part of re-training the brain during trauma therapy. If the expectation of rescheduling on Fridays or weekends might be a problem, please let Paige know immediately before therapy begins. Thank you for your flexibility!
• Session Length: Each appointment is one hour and 5 minutes. Due to the nature of hypnotherapy and "parts work", it's important to have a bit more time together. offers 15 minutes more than most other therapists.
• Overtime: Often, you may feel that you're work isn't finished at the end of your session. 25 minutes of optional overtime for are built into the end of each appointment if you need it. Overtime costs are prorated based on your personal fee. The overtime clock begins automatically at 66 minutes, whether we discuss it or not. If overtime is something you wish to avoid, it is suggested that you keep an alarm so that you can avoid being charged for overtime.
• Weekly and Bi-weekly Rates: See my rates here. The option for bi-weekly appointments is given after a significant period of time has been spent healing together and will be decided upon by the therapist. Bi-weekly rates are billed at a higher rate than weekly appointments. (Monthly appointments are not offered.)
• Couples' sessions: Marital or couple's counseling sessions are 90 to 120 minutes long (depending on need), and are billed at a higher hourly rate than individual work (See rates HERE). In addition to regular couple's sessions, each partner is required to participate in personal sessions each month as well. These individual appointments open further discussion and give fresh insights on the relationship.
• Cancellations: TWO free cancellations will be given each calendar year. You may cancel for any reason - illness, vacations, etc. After two free cancelations, if you need to miss an appointment, it must be re-scheduled the same week. If rescheduling is impossible, your cancellation is subject to a "missed-session-fee". If you are able to re-schedule the same week, there will be no "missed session fee".
• Payments: Venmo is the preferred payment method. My Venmo handle is @paige-bartholomew
• Emergency sessions: are often available, as Paige is available. If Paige can't fit you in, you may always reach out by text.
• Your credit card will be kept on file, and is required to hold your appointments. Your card will never be charged without speaking to you first. Your entire file (including credit card information) is locked behind two locks, per Texas law.
• Fee increases: This office reserves the right to increase fees at any time (usually once a year), with 6 weeks' notice, given in writing via email. When fees do increase, expect an increase of $10 - $20 per session. Fees will be set in accordance with the standard going rate of Austin therapists with similar experience, training, and years in practice.
Appointments & Cancellations:
• Your appointment time is reserved for you. It's called a "standing appointment". It is your responsibility to keep your appointment. If you miss it for any reason (illness or otherwise), you'll be given options to reschedule that same week. If you are unable to reschedule within the week, you will be responsible for paying your 'missed session fee'.
• 24 BUSINESS HOURS' Notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
• The first 16 sessions will be scheduled weekly in order to build our relationship with the necessary rapport and trust, and to master the hypnosis and Internal Family Systems work.
• Modes of Communication: TEXT is the preferred mode of communication and is the fastest way to get in touch. If you need to discuss scheduling, please text. Phone calls are routed to voicemail, but it is only checked once a week. Please don't leave a voice message. Texting during the night is OK if you need to as I keep my ringer on silent.
• Hours of Operation: Paige's schedule is extremely full. Paige maintains a waiting list when appointments are not available. When initially setting up your regular weekly appointment, often, your preferred time will not be available. In order to get on Paige's schedule, clients often make special arrangements with their employers to leave work early for therapy, or they take lunch breaks for their appointments.
• Overseas clients: Sessions are scheduled on Texas time, or the “Central" time zone between the hours of 10:30 am and 8 pm. If you live overseas and our time zones are incompatible, your session may have to be scheduled very early or very late for you.
The Therapy Process:
• How long therapy will take? Many issues can be addressed within short-term therapy (about 12 - 16 sessions), but more serious issues such as trauma, long-standing grief, relationship issues, childhood issues, abuse or addictions respond better to longer-term therapy. A good rule of thumb is that it takes one year of clinical work for every decade lived in a state of distress, pain, irresolution or dysfunction. If you work with Paige, plan on longer-term therapy (6 - 24 months).
• You are in charge of your personal growth program. If you are struggling in therapy, it's your job to say something. If you don't like a certain exercise or practice - speak up. If you'd like to go in a different direction - say something. No one can advocate for you better than you. HELP YOUR THERAPIST HELP YOU!
